Forty cloves of a hardneck that came from the plot next door, planted 15 cm apart into the bed that had the beans. Last year's garlic went in three weeks later and the bulbs were half the size, so earlier it is.

The cœur de bœuf split after the August rain, every one of them. Sungold did not care.
Blanched with cardboard tubes this time instead of earthing up. Cleaner, and no grit, but the tubes need weighing down or the wind takes them.
